Inspired by the extraordinary and the ordinary Vicky Wilson makes her work as simplistic as possible, inviting the viewer to see themselves and their emotions through the work. Minimal lines, fluid shapes and bold contrasting colours allow the presentation of difficult subject matter in subtle ways.

Working predominately in a digital format but now rediscovering physical forms through experiments with process and multiple mediums; paint on canvas and projection, animation and installation, and most recently textiles.

Design highlights: Award winning advertising campaign for The National Army Museum Helmand exhibition 2010, digital marketing award for Hackett Collection 2009 and animation for the RSPB screened on a Transvision at Waterloo Station 2010.

Art highlights: Online collection commissioned for the Isolation Gallery 2021 (Independent Arts), ‘Smells Like Hugs’ exhibited at The Quay Arts 2021 open exhibition, ‘The Ryde Queen’ exhibited at Monkon Arts 2022 and resident artist at Department with Ryde Arts in 2022.

Creative practitioner highlights: Lead artist and course content devised for Reconnect and Renew Newport in 2021/2022 (Independent Arts), drama facilitator/director for children’s theatre 2019-2022 and creator/producer of a multi-disciplinary arts project devised for East Cowes Heritage Centre 2022, including a soundscape, solo exhibition, children’s performance and children’s art exhibition.
